Hailing from the tiny Island of Bressay in the Shetland Islands, Seán R. McLaughlin & The Wind-Up Crows released their fantastic debut album Goodnight, Lad via Stitch Records in May 2024. Co-produced by McLaughlin, Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan (who is Seán’s cousin, as is Glastonbury Emerging Talent winner, Lewis McLaughlin), and Jeremy Backofen (The Felice Brothers) the record has secured support via Scotland On Sunday, BBC Radio 6 Music, EARMILK, Clash and BBC Radio Scotland. They create folk-tinged masterpieces, and Seán’s band consists of Vicky Gray, Stephen Thom, Sandy Batchelor, Fraser Walpole and Roberto Cassani.
